We make cheese the old way — small batches, honest ingredients, and zero shortcuts. Then we set up shop right on the Square so you can taste the difference before you buy it.
Main Street Mercantile and Creamery wasn't born from a business plan — it was born from a frustration with what was missing from the grocery store. Good cheese. Real cream. Stuff that tastes like something grown by a person, not assembled by a machine.
So we built a small-batch creamery. We partner with local dairies who share our obsession with quality, and we turn their milk into cheddar, cream cheese, whipped feta, and more — all made by hand, right here in Lebanon.
Then we opened the mercantile side: a shop on Public Square where we sell our own products alongside goods from other local makers. Honey from a nearby apiary. Hot sauce from a kitchen down the road. Things we'd actually put on our own table.
Two sides of the same shop. One commitment to doing it right.
Sharp, crumbly, aged to perfection in our creamery. Made from local milk, aged in rounds that we turn by hand every day.

Our milk comes from dairies in Wilson and surrounding counties. Our honey, sauces, and other goods come from makers we actually know and trust.
128 Public Square isn't a random warehouse. It's the heart of Lebanon. Walk in after courthouse, on a date, or just because — we'll be here.
Our ingredient list is short because we don't need long. Real milk, salt, cultures, time. If it doesn't belong in a real kitchen, it doesn't belong in our cheese.
We're open most days on Public Square. Walk in, browse the creamery case, pick up a gift box, or just say hi. We remember names around here.
